Professor Asit K. Biswas is universally acknowledged as one of the world’s leading authorities on water, food, environment and development-related issues. He has a very distinguished career as an academic; senior public official in Canada; advisor and confidant to Presidents, Prime Ministers and Ministers in 23 countries, six Heads of United Nations Agencies, two Secretary-Generals of OECD and many other major international and national organizations. Professor Asit K. Biswas is awarded Stockholm Water Prize, considered to be the Nobel Prize for water, for “his outstanding and multi-faceted contributions to global water resource issues”.
Professor Cecilia Tortajada’s research focuses on the impacts of global changes on water resources, food, environment, and societies. Over 30 years of experience in water, environment and natural resources management in the context of development, she is the winner of the Crystal Drop Award in 2016 and the 50th Anniversary Award in 2021, International Water Resources Association (IWRA). She is a very prolific author, her work has been translated into Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish languages. She is also Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Water Resources Development.
