IMPA

Program Introduction

The IMPA degree program is a one-year English program offered by the School of Public Policy and Management (SPPM) at Tsinghua University. It is designed for government officials or senior enterprise managers, or administrative heads and senior managerial staff of universities/colleges/academic institutions. from developing countries and focuses on enhancing cooperation and exchanges between those countries.

It includes 3 different sub-program which all offer the IMPA degree: IMPA-MOFCOM, IMPA-BRI, and IMPA-FL.

Course Requirements

The IMPA program consists of two semesters of full-time academic work, with a minimum course requirement of 28 credits to complete the degree, including the public required course (including Chinese Language), 5 credits; core courses, 9 credits; electives, no less than 9 credits; practical training, 5 credits.

Required Application Materials:

● Passport bio page (personal ordinary-type passport).

● A formal degree certificate of the bachelor's degree (original copy or notarized photocopy) and A certified copy or an authentication of the Bachelor’s degree diploma provided by the authorities of applicants’ home country.

● Undergraduate academic transcripts (original copy or notarized photocopy).

● Personal statement in English which should be completed directly in the application system.

● Two letters of recommendation (original copy, in English or Chinese): One letter must be from a professor or an associate professor of a higher education institution at which you have studied; the other must be from your current employer.

● Resume in English, including personal background, study experience after high school and working experience.

● Official results of English language proficiency tests (if available): Applicants whose first language or language of instruction in their tertiary education is not English are recommended to provide evidence of English proficiency. If needed, video interviews will be conducted for prospective candidates to test their language proficiency.

● Foreigner Physical Examination Form: The examination result must be obtained within one month, stating that the applicant has no serious infectious diseases or any diseases which could prevent entry into China. The blank form can be downloaded at http://is.tsinghua.edu.cn.

● Non-Criminal Record statement issued within 6 months of application.

● Three recent photos of passport size. One photo should be pasted onto the application form.

Notes on Application:

● All uploaded documents should be in English or Chinese; otherwise, certified English/Chinese translations should be submitted with the original documents to the application system.

● To complete your application, an application fee of 800 RMB must be paid. The application fee is non-refundable.
