Program Overview
Launched in 2007, the Master of Public Administration in International Development degree program (MID) at Tsinghua SPPM is a two-year MPA program. It is designed to lay a strong academic and practical foundation for students to become active global citizens and specialists in international development. In 2009, the School of Public Policy & Management, Tsinghua University was selected to be one of the founding institutions of the Global Association of the Master’s in Development Practice (MDP) worldwide, and the only institution in China. The MID program was a member Master’s program of the MDP with the goal of cultivating a new generation of international development professionals. In 2018, MID program had developed and began to recruit students recommended by Ministry of Communication and Informatics (MCI), Indonesia.

Academic Uniqueness
Students may choose one from three curriculum tracks: Sustainable Development, International Development and Governance. All these tracks are focus on comprehensively building students' academic knowledge, practical skills and professional values.
Practical Orientation
MID program enhances professional training by providing unique opportunities of internships, field trips and guest lectures.
Strong Administration
The program provides comprehensive services for international students studying at Tsinghua.
Required Qualifications of Applicants
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid personal ordinary-type passport.
2. Master's Degree program applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent degree to a Bachelor's Degree (or above) in China. The students who will enroll in 2024 must obtain the nationally recognized bachelor's or master's degree (for the universities of Chinese mainland)or the degree authentication report issued by Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, Ministry of Education, P. R. China (for overseas universities) before THU graduate student registration date of 2024, otherwise the admission qualification is invalid.
3. Applicants should have high English proficiency.
4. Applicants should be in good health and of good character (meet the physical examination requirements stipulated by the country and THU), be well-behaved and be willing to abide by China's laws and regulations, as well as Tsinghua’s rules.
5. Only recruit students recommended by Ministry of Communication and Informatics (MCI), Indonesia.

Complete the Online Application on the website of Tsinghua University (https://yzbm.tsinghua.edu.cn/intlLogin) during the designated application period. Fill in the application form, upload the application materials listed below, and pay the application fee online.
Application Documents
Please upload all the documents listed below to the application system:
● Passport (personal ordinary-type passport): Applicants should present bio page of personal ordinary-type passport. Those who previously held Chinese nationality and subsequently acquired foreign nationality are required to provide certificate of cancelled Chinese household registration (Hukou) and certificate of naturalized citizenship of other countries
● Degree certificate and degree authentication. Master's degree program applicants should submit their Bachelor's degree certificate. The degree diploma awarded by overseas universities should be authenticated by Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, Ministry of Education, P. R. China. The degree diploma awarded by universities of Chinese mainland should be authenticated by Center for Student Services and Development, Ministry of Education, P. R. China (CSSD).
● Academic transcript. Master's degree program applicants should submit the academic transcript of their undergraduate study. Applicants who will not graduate before the application deadline shall provide their current academic transcript. In this case, the completed academic transcript must be submitted before registration. If the uploaded transcript cannot directly show the total GPA score, the GPA certification document issued by the university is also required.
● Personal statement. The personal statement should be completed directly in the application system.
● Two academic recommendation letters from scholars who have the title of associate professor or higher, or senior professionals in a related academic field. Please follow the instructions on the online system for submission of online recommendation letters or upload the recommendation letters signed by references.
● Official results of English language proficiency tests (if available): Applicants whose first language or language of instruction in their tertiary education is not English are recommended to provide evidence of English proficiency. If needed, video interviews will be conducted for prospective candidates to test their language proficiency.
