S ince founded in 2000, School of Public Policy and Management, Tsinghua University maintaining public administration and public policy as its mainstream, has been continuously strengthening building research institutions and research teams, organizing major projects, research cooperation and exchanges as well as research platform, and launching a series of major theoretical and applied research. Tsinghua SPPM has made prominent achievements in China studies, government innovation and reform, NGO and social management, crisis management, social security and social policy, technology and resources and environment policies, development planning, Taiwan studies, anti-corruption research, international strategy and development, and formed dominant disciplines which create greater impact at home and abroad.

By the end of 2011, SPPM has carried on all variety of research projects of nearly 1000, total research funding of 224 million yuan. Topics include: 8 major projects for the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Social Science Foundation of China, 2 major research projects in Philosophy and Social Science for the Ministry of Education, 86 general projects for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Social Science Fund and Social Science Research in Ministry of Education, more than 30 international cooperation projects for the United Nations, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Ford Foundation, the Brookings Institution, more than 200 projects commissioned by the Ministry of National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Health and other national ministries, more than 500 topics commissioned by the local government, enterprises and institutions. Tsinghua SPPM has published more than 1,700 articles, including more than 60 papers in SCI and SSCI, more than 200 publications (including compiled work), and has been the editor and publisher of academic journals and policy report such as "China Public Administration Review”, “China Study” and "China Nonprofit Review", communicating the research work and academic contribution of SPPM, making extensive and far-reaching impact in academia and practice.
