On September 26, MID and IMPA program held summer field training sharing meeting with the aim to show the achievements of field trips and internships for the past academic year of 2013. MID and IMPA offices would like to provide an opportunity for new and old students to communicate with their field training experience in order to know China’s development better. 50 international students attended the meeting. Associate Dean, Ms. MENG Bo, hosted this meeting. Deputy Party Secretary, Professor XIE Jin, Director for China Case Center for Public Policy and Management, Ms. MU Ling, MDP Executive Director, YIN Chengzhi, MID 2013 Class Professor JIA Xijin, and Deputy Director of Chinese Students Office, Ms. LIU Jinwen were all invited to participate in this meeting.

In the beginning, all participants watched the well prepared videos of MID 2013 field trips and IMPA 2014 field trips. In the presentation session, IMPA 2014 students, Elhannah and Khatib from Dominica and Zanzibar, Tanzania, as the representatives, introduced IMPA Shanghai and Jiangxi trips. MID 2013 student Timo from Germany, created a brilliant video of MID Gansu trip, which impressed all in the meeting. Finally, MID 2013 students Fred from USA and Carlos from Chile shared their internships at MCC and Chile Foundation.

After the presentation session, Ms. MENG Bo led the further communicate. Different students who participated in trips shared their insights and proposed suggestions for better organizing the trips. Professor XIE Jin introduced Chinese students’ “social investigation” course, and encouraged international students to participate in various field training at Tsinghua. Professor JIA Xijin and MU Ling hoped students could make deep thinking of the diversity of China’s development.
Field Training is one important pillar of MID and IMPA’s curriculum, which is designed to provide more opportunities for international students to know China’s development experience.
