On April 27th, MID and IMPA students visited the Tsinghua University History Museum. As part of Tsinghua University’s 102nd anniversary celebration, this visit was to help students learn more about the history of the school. SPPM PhD student Wang Hongchuan provided a detailed introduction.
In the Hall of Exhibition, different stages of Tsinghua’s development were displayed through the combination of literal and graphic representations, which included many valuable photographs. When Antara from India noticed the group photo of Tsinghua faculty and students with Indian poetry Rabindranath Tagore, and when students from Africa saw the picture of former UN secretary general Kofi Annan, they praised the international influence of Tsinghua University and felt proud of becoming a member of Tsinghua’s student body.
Students have expressed that the visit was very meaningful because it helped them understand the history of Tsinghua University. Yonnas from IMPA 2013 stated that he could introduce Tsinghua University to his friends and families in greater detail hereafter. Temesgen from MID 2011 proposed to add a special exhibition area for international students, a group that he believed would also play an important role in Tsinghua’s development.
