Speaker Biography:
Dr. Michael Milli Hussein was born in Raga, Western Bahr el Ghazal, South Sudan in 1951. He is a graduate of Faculty of Medicine, University of Alexandria, the Arab Republic of Egypt.
After graduation, he worked as a civil servant for 15 years. In 1995, he was appointed as State Minister of Health, and then in 2001 he was appointed as the Governor of the Western Bahr el Ghazal. After that he became the first Minister of Education in Government of Southern Sudan and thereafter was appointed as the Presidential Adviser on Food Security. In the year 2010, he was reappointed as the Minister of Education. From 2011 to 2013, he was the Minister of Health in the 1st Government of the Independent Republic of South Sudan.
In November 2014, President Salva Kiir Mayardit appointed him as the Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan to the People’s Republic of China.
