The Institute for Philanthropy Tsinghua University (IPTU) was launched in April 26, 2015. It is a top national think tank co-sponsored by Ministry of Civil Affairs and Tsinghua University, a key member of the Institute for National Governance and Global Governance at Tsinghua University, and a policy and theoretical research base of Ministry of Civil Affairs, China.

It believes that through the fundamental research on essence of philanthropy, practical studies of institutional and policy, nurturing and transformation of philanthropic leaders, advocacy and facilitation of innovation on philanthropy, effective application of technology and effective communication and exchange at global level, it can pursue positive, sustainable and transformational change.

The IPTU dedicated itself to be a leading agency of philanthropic research, a top national think tank, a cradle of further philanthropic leaders and a world-class communication platform of philanthropy.
