The Center for Industrial Development and Environmental Governance (CIDEG) of Tsinghua University was founded on September 27, 2005. It serves as a center of excellence for policy research, academic exchange, graduate education, and on-the-job training in the fields of industrial development, environmental governance, and institutional transition. CIDEG aims to promote education and research in public policy and management in China, while enhancing communication, understanding, and cooperation among academic, business, non-profit, and public sectors. Tsinghua University established CIDEG as a university-level independent research institute in 2006. Over the past 19 years, CIDEG has achieved significant success in academic research, scholar networking, and social influence.

Since its establishment, CIDEG has organised various research projects and academic activities, constructed a specialised research team and academic network, and published diverse research findings with the participation of numerous well-known scholars. The language used is clear, objective, and value-neutral, with a formal register and precise word choice. The text adheres to conventional structure and formatting features, with consistent citation and footnote style.
