The Institute of Discipline Inspection and Supervision of Tsinghua University was supported by the School of Public Policy & Management of Tsinghua University and jointly built by the School of Marxism, the School of Law, and the School of Social Sciences. It is a university-level research institution of Tsinghua University. Based on the discipline construction of discipline inspection and supervision, the Institute aims to promote discipline inspection and supervision academic innovation, strengthen discipline inspection and supervision personnel training, and serve the central strategic decision-making consultation, focusing on major issues of Party and national clean government construction. The research team consists of full-time faculty, postdoctoral fellows, research assistants, and graduate students. Team members have a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds, involving economics, political science, law, management, and other disciplines, with a solid theoretical foundation and rich research experience.
The Institute inherits the good foundation laid by the Research Center for Integrity and Governance of Tsinghua University (hereinafter referred to as the "Center"), accumulating rich academic resources and social influence. Founded in October 2000, the Center is the earliest institute of integrity research in universities in China. In 2017, the Center was approved as the Research Base of Beijing Clean Government Construction. In 2022, it was renamed as the Institute of Discipline Inspection and Supervision, Tsinghua University.
Over the years of development, the institute has conducted in-depth research on issues such as the Chinese-style integrity model, the supervision system of the Party and the state, corruption measurement, corporate integrity and compliance, and international anti-corruption cooperation. It has played an important role in serving central strategic decision-making consultation, academic innovation, talent cultivation, social services, and other fields. Simultaneously, it has undertaken numerous research projects, including national, provincial, and ministerial-level projects, projects commissioned by central government departments and local party and government agencies, as well as international anti-corruption cooperation projects. Through collaboration with practical departments on research projects, it has promoted the integration of theory and practice, providing valuable references for decision-making in practical departments. In the future, the institute will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with domestic and foreign integrity research institutions, expand its influence in the field of discipline inspection, and strive to become a top-notch academic research institution and high-end think tank in the discipline inspection and supervision field domestically.
