The Center for Youth Moral Education (CYME), Tsinghua University, was officially established in April 2019. The Center is affiliated with the School of Public Policy and Management, co-established by the School of Marxism and the Institute of Education.
The Center is committed to researching and shaping the youth morality and good sentiments. Based on the current state of moral education in contemporary China and focusing on the global stage of citizenship and moral education, it starts from the core concept of “human”, fostering virtue through education, and enhancing students’ well-rounded development.
The first research phase is conducted from two dimensions: the vertical dimension (intergration of primary schools, secondary schools and universities), and the horizontal dimension (family, school, government and social coordination), to explore the important influencing factors of moral education.
The Center aims to provide theoretical and practical support for the formulation of moral education policies and the implementation of moral education in China. At the same time, it strives to become an important hub to promote the communication and integration of moral education between the East and the West.
