In November, the MID Program hosted Guest Lecture Series No.3, 4 and 5.
1. On November 1, SPPM’s Professor Ming Wang and Yanbing Zhang were invited to give a lecture to international students on the topic of Development / Management and Studies of NGOs in China. More than 30 students attended this lecture to learn the development of China’s NGOs.
2. On November 5, Tsinghua’s MDP program was invited to give a guest lecture for School of Politics and International Relations, University College Dublin’s MDP Global Classroom: Governance, Politics and Development. SPPM’s Professor Qi Ye, School of Public Policy and Management, and also Director of Climate Initiative at Tsinghua University led this special session. In two hours, Professor Qi mainly discussed government and climate change, and answer Dublin students’ questions.
3. On November 15, SPPM’s visiting scholar, Edward S. Steinfeld, Professor of political economy in the MIT Department of Political Science, was invited to have a lecture on the topic of Markets, States, and Energy Technology Development: Should the U.S. Sanction Chinese Solar PV Manufacturers? Both Chinese and international students attended the lecture, focusing on U.S. and China’s relation.
