On December 11, a delegation from School of Public Policy and Management visited Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area for a field trip. Assistant Dean Ms. Meng Bo and MID/IMPA students were welcomed by Deputy Director of BDA Administrative Commission Lihong Yuan and Director of Office of United Investment Promotion Commission International Liaison Dept. Yanping Wang. Following Mr. Wang, the delegation visited the planning sand table of the development area and industrial clusters show room, and then watched the digital movie. In addition, Mr. Wang also introduced the planning of the whole development area and the 2020 goal, and answered students’ questions.
In order to know the operation of enterprises in the development area, SPPM delegation also visited Beijing ABB High Voltage Switchgear Co. Ltd. Deputy General Manager Ping Huang briefly introduced ABB Group and ABB China, analyzed the reasons why it adopted Chinese joint venture for and the result of high efficiency of its production management. As one of the major joint ventures in the development area, Mr. Huang who represented ABB made a positive assessment to the work of ETDA BDA Administrative Commission.
This year is the 20th anniversary of the Beijing ETDA. MID and IMPA students were very fortunate to become the first foreign delegation learning the industrial cluster and planning blueprint of ETDA by digital information technology.
