Bogdan Constantin Palaghia and Sanva Saephan, who are from MID2014, were awarded the Chinese Development Bank Scholarship. Previously, two MID2012 students from developing countries were the recipients of this scholarship. This is the second time that MID students receive this scholarship.
On May 16, together with the staff from Tsinghua International Students office, Bogdan attended the scholarship award ceremony. At the beginning of May Bobby was pleasantly surprised to find out that he was one of the 51 students chosen for the CDB Scholarship. The organization has attached his interest in the previous months due to its involvement within China's development aid mechanism. He thinks that this scholarship is definitely a welcomed reward, to put it as such. He trust that he was considered for the academic merits and not for other irrelevant grounds. During the commencement, he have met the other scholarship recipients, who were nothing short of impressive. He wish to use half of this scholarship for travelling purposes, to expand his horizons and support his future career. In the final, he expressed his big 谢谢 to the China Development Bank staff for their initiative and hope they will continue to support many other students that have been working hard to be here.
Since 2006, the China Development Bank was initiated in the effort to promote friendly bilateral exchanges between the economic and financial fields while promoting multicultural integration. Under the implementation of the Chinese Scholarship Council, the scholarship serves as a purpose to encourage foreigners in China with strong academic excellence. In 2015, a total of 4 Tsinghua students have been awarded this scholarship.
