On January 15, the 2013 Spring Commencement Ceremony of Tsinghua University and School of Public Policy and Management were held successfully. 11 MID students officially graduated from Tsinghua University with a master’s degree in Public Administration.
The Commencement Ceremony of SPPM took place in the school lobby. Around 90 graduates both Chinese and international made their presence in the ceremony. Christian Nordby from MID2010 class, who attained his bachelor’s degree in Oxford University, on behalf of the MID graduates, made a fabulous speech to the audience. And Gavin Lohry, also from MID 2010, was conferred with the Best Public Service Award to honor his contribution to organizing the winter field trip to Pearl River Delta in 2012. Both Christian and Gavin were awarded the School Outstanding Master’s Thesis. Moreover, Gavin's was recommended as the University Outstanding one.
Abenamar Sanchez, MID2008 graduate was specially awarded MID Spirit of Courage. He had a serious accident in July, 2010. But, he stood up bravely and passed the oral thesis defense in December, 2012.
