On May 15, the MID Office organized Vol. 12 of the Guest Lecture Series. Dr. Binyam Reja. He is the Country Sector Coordinator and Lead Transport Specialist for the China and Mongolia Transport Program, World Bank Office in Beijing offered the lecture on the topic of Public Private Partnership for Infrastructure Development for 30 international and Chinese students. Professor YIN Chengzhi (The MID director & Associate Professor) hosted this event.
Dr. Reja introduced the trends of Public Private Partnership (PPP) for infrastructure development and compared the differences across a wide range of industries and countries. In addition, he analyzed the key elements and challenges of a successful model of PPP based on the case study of India. Drawn upon the case study, Dr. Reja introduced China’s new initiatives of PPP based on his work experience. Students asked questions and gave comments very actively, which all received Dr. Reja’s positive responses.
Dr. Binyam Reja is the Country Sector Coordinator and Lead Transport Specialist for the China and Mongolia Transport Program at the World Bank Office in Beijing. Prior to moving to Beijing in August 2012, Mr. Reja was the Senior Transport Economist and Acting Sector Manager for the South Asia Region at the World Bank based in Washington, DC. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.
