In order to help MID student complete internship and start career planning early, the program invited the expert from Tsinghua University’s Career Development Center to provide career guidance for international students. On April 16, Dr. JIN Leilei, Associate Professor of Career Development Center, opened a workshop for more than 10 MID students. MID Academic Director, Professor YIN Chengzhi hosted this activity.
Professor JIN first introduced Career Development Center and basic service for students, in particular one-on-one counseling and assessment. She welcomed international students to visit the center, not only to benefit from university career service, but also to help Career Development Center improve its internationalization. In addition, Professor JIN introduced techniques for resume and cover letter writing in China. Using some samples, she analyzed some students’ resume for specific problems. MID students proposed some questions based on their individual cases in the final.
Dr. Leili Jin is a vocational psychologist in the career development center of Tsinghua University and teaches Career Planning for undergraduates. She obtained her PhD (in vocational psychology) from the Faculty of Education, the University of Hong Kong. She is a member of the National Career Development Association, USA. Her current interests include the contributions of university experiences to career-related outcomes among Chinese university students, career assessment, and professional identity among Chinese career practitioners.
