Dr. Yuning Gao is tenured associate professor, doctoral supervisor and, Huayu associate professor, director of the Institute of International Development and Global Governance, executive director of MPA education center at the School of Public Policy and Management, Tsinghua University. He served as deputy director of the Institute of Service Economy and Digital Governance, Tsinghua University and associate researcher at Institute for Contemporary China Studies, Tsinghua University. He holds PhD in Economics from University of Cambridge, Master of Management and Bachelor of Engineering from Tsinghua University. He serves as the standing Board Member of the Committee of Social and Economic System Engineering of the Society of System Engineering of China, and honorary associate professor at the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, University College of London. He also serves as the associate editor of Structural Change and Economic Dynamics and Journal of Chinese Economic and Business Studies. He was elected as the 31^st president of Chinese Economics Association Europe/UK served as visiting professor at Graduate School of economics, Nagoya University.

Dr. Gao’s main research fields include international economics and international development, resource and environmental economics and policy together with digital economy and global governance. He took charge of more than 10 research projects including the major projects of National Social Science Foundation of China and general projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China. His publication includes Scientific Data, One Earth, Energy Economics, China Economic Review, China Industrial Economics, China Economic Quarterly etc.

The courses he taught includes joint PhD course International Development and Global Governance, Economic Theory (II) and Master course Economic Development and Policy of China, which was award “excellent graduate course” of Tsinghua University and “model English course for overseas students” of the Ministry of Education. He was award first grade in the 10th Beijing Teaching Skill Competition of Junior Faculties of Higher Education Institutions, first grade of 2015 Beijing Excellent Achievement Award in Project Consultation, second grade of the 14th Beijing Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences and second grade of the 7th Outstanding Achievement Award of the Ministry of Education.
