Dr. Penglong Zhang is an associate professor at the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University. He obtained his Ph.D. in economics from Boston College in 2018. He served as a Research Affiliate at MIT Sloan School of Management in 2017. He earned his master’s degree in economics and his bachelor’s dual degrees in economics and mathematics at Renmin University of China. His main research fields include international trade, development, global governance, and economic geography. He has published refereed articles in leading journals of economics and management, including Review of Economics and Statistics, World Development, and Journal of Rural Studies. He teaches Economic Principles, Development: Theory and Practice (in English), Belt and Road Initiative and the Reshaping of World Economy (in English). He won first prize in “The Ninth Tsinghua University Teaching Competition for Young Teachers” (Social Science Group).
