As the first stop of the activity, the students visited the Party and Masses Service Center in Banbidian Village to see the Historical Museum of the village. Fang Chunling, the director of the Village Chronicle Office of Banbidian Village in Gaobeidian Township, Chaoyang District, and other community leaders, used digital sand tables, holographic projections, arc screens, and video screenings to introduce to the students the historical evolution, traditional folk culture, community renewal, and digital construction experiences of "the most beautiful village nearest to Tiananmen Square" - Banbidian Village.
Next, the students walked along the Tonghui River to visit the statue of Guo Shoujing, listening to the life and achievements of this famous scientist and litterateur from the Yuan Dynasty. Under the introduction of Bian Bin, the Executive Secretary General of the Tonghuihe Cultural Enterprise Chamber of Commerce, the students learned about the development history of Beijing's urban water conservancy, the historical background of the Tonghui River irrigation canal, and its important position in urban water conservancy.
The third stop of the activity was Tonghui Water Valley Recycled Water Wetland Park. Here, the staff introduced to the students the planning and construction process of the recycled water wetland park, as well as the history and development of the Gaobeidian Wastewater Treatment Plant and the water environment treatment business of the Beijing Drainage Group.
At the end of the activity, the students signed their names and posed for a group photo at the Guo Shoujing statue plaza. Many students expressed that through this field trip and personal experience, they had gained a deeper understanding of Beijing's historical culture, natural landscapes, urban water conservancy planning, and water resource protection and utilization.
